  To improve the flatness of long parts, it is necessary to determine the polishing method according to the shape accuracy of the object to be polished as well as the accuracy of the surface plate. We verify the shape accuracy before and during processing with a three-dimensional measuring instrument to understand the tendency of the object. Based on the data obtained, we can determine the shape of the surface plate and the movement of the object to be polished, enabling us to improve the flatness of the object. In the preceding grinding process, a flat surface is created, and in the lapping process, even tighter flatness and surface roughness values are pursued. We are also able to achieve a finish that suppresses edge sagging. Our large-size lapping process technology meets high-precision requirements through a combination of measuring, grinding, and polishing.
